Overview & Highlights

Welcome to The Vintage Fishery – Fish & Chips Wimbledon, a delightful gem nestled in the heart of Wimbledon, located at 11 Leopold Rd, London SW19 7BB. This fish and chips restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic British fare, where tradition meets quality.

At The Vintage Fishery, the cornerstone of their menu is the original battered fish. Featuring wild-caught cod from Peterhead, Scotland, each filet is expertly filleted in-store to ensure maximum freshness. For those seeking something richer, their halibut steals the spotlight with its firm texture and delicate flavor. At £11.50, it's a dish worth every penny.

But the menu doesn’t stop at fish. Indulge in a juicy jumbo sausage for just £3.00, or treat yourself to their crispy, golden-battered chicken chunks which are perfect for both adults and kids alike. Speaking of kids, there are charming meals tailored just for them, featuring fish bites and chicken chunks served with chips and a refreshing Fruit Shoot, all for £7.90.

The vibe here is warm and welcoming, complemented by the friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is top-notch. Customers rave about their meals, with one reviewer, Wasim Younas, praising the incredibly fresh and flaky fish and the thick-cut chips cooked to golden perfection. The homemade tartare sauce has received particular acclaim, as have the chicken wings that are bursting with flavor.

Another standout feature of The Vintage Fishery is their willingness to cater to various dietary needs, offering vegan and vegetarian options that ensure everyone finds something to enjoy. It's no wonder patrons like Florence L. have felt so well accommodated, even with large group gatherings. The dedication to customer satisfaction is evident and leaves a lasting impression.

The Vintage Fishery isn’t just another fish and chip shop; it’s a place committed to high-quality ingredients and superb craftsmanship in every dish. Whether you choose to dine in or take out, this establishment promises a comforting experience that'll have you craving more.

So if you're in the area or just seeking a classic British dish done right, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting The Vintage Fishery – you won’t be disappointed!

A truly fantastic find! If you're looking for a top-tier takeaway or dine in, Vintage Fishery is an absolute must-try. I was blown away by the quality of everything I ordered. The fish and chips were nothing short of perfect. The fish was incredibly fresh and flaky, with a light and crispy batter that wasn't greasy at all. The chips were the real deal thick cut and cooked to a golden perfection. It’s exactly what you want from a classic chippy. I also tried the juicy chicken burger and wings. The burger was a winner, with a tender and flavourful chicken fillet. But the wings were a real standout crispy and succulent, with an incredible amount of flavour. What really sealed the deal for me were the awesome sauces. The homemade tartare sauce was the best I've ever had, and the other dips complemented the food perfectly. It’s clear that Vintage Fishery uses high-quality ingredients and takes pride in their food. The service of the staff is fabulous they are friendly and courteous This is a place I'll definitely be coming back to.

Amazing Fish and Chips got the full options. Friendly staff and really enjoyed the battered cod chunky chips. It hit the spot sometimes it's exactly what you want a proper fish and chips.

A very good spot for a nice Fish and Chips. The haddock was very meaty and soft. And if you're lucky you'll be able to finish your meal with a nice fried mars bar. Big shout out to the great service and welcoming from the owner and the staff. A great addition to Leopold road and Wimbledon generally!

We dropped in with 12 people at about 30 minutes notice and the staff could not have been more accommodating. They rearranged the tables for us, even borrowing a chair from the restaurant across the road to seat us all. They had a great menu, including vegan, vegetarian and meat options which suited everyone. We had a really lovely evening here, and the food and service could not have been better. We'll definitely be coming back!

Had been craving decent fish n chips all day and this place didn't disappoint. A little on the expensive side but quality fish and tasty chips. The batter was crispy and had some flavor. Lovely chips and a nice touch with the rosemary. Will be back for sure!

Friendly staff and service. Everything was cooked fresh. I sat in and the view was beautiful for a summer’s lunch. Fish was super crispy. 10/10 would recommend. They brought my food to my table and before I left even complimented me on the oud I wore. I noticed they’re very attentive and engaged with all customers that walked through their door :)

Oh my!. Amazing find on a side street on Wimbledon. Everything is freshly made in front of you. The colour of the mushy pies is a beautiful & natural green, no greyish undertones. The chips are just crunchy but soft, the cod piece perfectly battered with flaky fish pieces - perfectly cooked. The home made tartare sauce is delicious - thank you for the extra one slipped in too!. Definitely would recommend & will be visiting again soon. They have specials but those are seasonal. Revisited again, met Ashley & co, had the rock fish (prefer the cod), was kind enough to give me a box of the crispy bits!. Was introduced to onion vinegar for the first time ever - nice!. Pleasure to eat & visit here!.

Awesome fish and chips! 10/10! Thanks for sending the menu with my Deliveroo order! Makes it way easier to decide next time!
